New (to us) car equals new mishaps. Husband forgot to turn off the headlights after we returned home from the movie on Saturday evening. As such, the car wouldn’t start when we tried to leave yesterday morning for work—well, work for him and meetings for me. We called a cab and long story short, a neighbor let us borrow a jumpstart battery thingie to “charge” the battery. When husband tried to start the car yesterday evening, nothing happened. We left it connected overnight and then this morning, it still wouldn’t start. Frustrated, he called another taxi to go to work and I called the NRMA. One membership fee and an expensive battery replacement later, the car starts. Yay! I checked the dates on the old battery and realized that it was at last six years old if not older. Now we have a fresh one and a NRMA membership in case we need it. I’m looking forward to getting my car on 25 August so that we’re not stuck again if something else happens…
